The Gamma-X Add-On

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!!!!

In order to kick off the New Year right, we wanted to announce the latest addition to The HD Fury Family: The Gamma-X Add-On!

The HDFury and HDFury 2 are the latest innovations in high definition gaming on non-HD projectors, screens, and monitors. The HDFury and HDFury 2 emits that 1080p detail, picture, and quality by converting lower signals into higher resolutions. Because of this, the HDFury and HDFury 2 have been the hottest selling third party peripheral, especially here at The Game Train!

Now, the company that brought you both the HDFury and HDFury 2, have included The Gamma Boost. The Gamma Boost can only be obtained through the new Gamma-X add-on. What this add-on does, is improve the overall shadow detail of games and movies without washing out the color. Without it, shadow detail is either limited or omitted from the picture depending on the scene. So the Gamma Boost only focuses on improving the detail that had previously been lacking in shadow details to create a more rich look.

The Gamma-X add-on is a plug-and-play addition – no special techniques are required to install it. The difference is: For the HDFury and HDFury Gamer Edition, you are given an extra cable driver which lets you use monitor cables or RGB projector cables of any length, instead of having to directly plug in the HDFury into the monitor. The Gamma-X will also have to require a separate power supply. However, the HDFury 2 will not need an extra power supply as it uses it directly through the HDFury 2.

While the HDFury and HDFury 2 is known for its deciphering converter, the Gamma-X add-on will only work for RGB signals and not component signals, including an HDFury 2 that’s set to component output mode. A boost for this source may be in the works – and if it is, you’ll definitely be able to find an announcement soon enough here at The Game Train!

Include the Gamma-X add-on to your cart today to improve your visual gaming quality for only £49.95! And if you’re thinking of grabbing an HDFury or HDFury 2, check out the specs in the HDFury 2 blog post or the HDFury product description for details and pricing!

The PS3 E-Setter Makes TV Switching Easier!

When I first bought my PlayStation 3, I had three different television sets in my house: 1 CRT tube TV and 2 LCD high definition TVs. Upon setting up my PS3 to be compatible with the CRT TV set in my room, I decided to move it to one of the LCD TVs in the corner of the living room. Transferring consoles may seem easy and brainless, but it is actually a fairly complicated process than that.

See, when you switch your PS3 from one TV to another, you have to worry about the output resolution. If it doesn’t match up, you’ll end up getting a blank screen upon transfer – something that had me a bit confused when I first played around with it.

To bypass this problem, the best solution is to invest in a PlayStation 3 E-Setter – a smart new product that I wish I had two years ago. The PS3 E-Setter plugs up to one of your free USB ports on the console and allows you to select from the following outputs: 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p, auto HDMI, YPbPr, RGB, and AV. If no image displays on the screen, press down on the handy dandy reset button and wa-lah! You’ve got a video feed!

Now you don’t have to worry about your PS3 to TV compatibility, especially when the PS3 E-Setter supports hardware upgrades and all of the different PS3 models. Make your life easier by grabbing a PS3 E-Setter for £15.49!

Expand your HDTV options with the 3 Way Automatic HDMI Switch

The Three Way Auto Sensing Automatic HDMI Switcher has all of the features that you need from an HDMI switching device. Reliable and high quality, the 3 way HDMI Switch lets you connect three output devices to a single screen (or anything which has an HDMI input). As its name suggests, the Three Way Auto Sensing Automatic HDMI Switcher will automatically recognize which of the HDMI sources is providing a signal and will switch to that source for its display.

There are also manual buttons provided on the Three Way Auto Sensing Automatic HDMI Switcher so that if there are multiple systems running at once you can switch between them at will. When one HDMI source is turned on after another, the most recent one to be turned on will be selected by the switcher. The Three Way Auto Sensing Automatic HDMI Switcher will accept both HDMI and DVI sources, which include the Playstation 3, the Xbox 360 and Blu-Ray Disc players.

With high quality inputs and outputs, the Three Way Auto Sensing Automatic HDMI Switcher lets you get a clear picture with no signal degradation – it’s the same as plugging your sources in with a direct connection to the display. It's also compatible with all of the latest HDMI sources, with HDCP compliance and all of the high definition resolutions: 480p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p.

There’s no need for a power supply (unless excessively long cables are being used), and no need for a remote – the Three Way Auto Sensing Automatic HDMI Switcher handles switching between your HDMI / DVI sources automatically and makes it easy for you to get the input that you want with as few steps as possible. Simply turn on the system that you want to use and play!

How many HDMI devices do you have to connect to your TV? Leave a comment and let us know!

Adding HDMI output to 1st Gen, HDMI-less Xbox 360

If, like us, you were one of the many early adopters of the XBox 360, you would have felt a bit annoyed when the Xbox 360 hardware was revised to run more reliably and add a HDMI output. For those of us stuck with the first generation hardware without a HDMI port, an analog High Definition component cable gave the best quality picture...or, at least it used to.

HDMI gives a significantly better picture than component because the connection is digital, so there is no quality degradation. The geniuses down at XCM (creators of the XFPS Pro Sniper and the play-anything-on-your-PC-Monitor Hi-Def VGA Transcoder), have made a high fidelity HDMI cable for the original Xbox 360 without the HDMI port. It works by converting the analog signal into digital straight out the 360, thereby decreasing the signal loss rate and making for a much sharper picture. The cable supports 480p, 720p and 1080i and can be used on your HDTV or monitor. It includes both optical and analog phono audio outputs, so you can choose how you get sound to your speakers, amp or TV.

For your viewing pleasure, we've added a couple of videos of this 360 HDMI cable in action. Even on these YouTube clips, you can see what a difference the cable makes:
